Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 1000 amends Chapter 34 of Title 43 of the O.C.G.A. Physicians shall have their license suspended or revoked when convicted of sexual assault on a patient. Additionally, health care professionals are required to report the name of a physician to the board if they have reasonable cause to believe that such physician has sexually assaulted a patient.
